Convictions
dio/acc
Prelude
dio/acc. What is it?
Dionysian Accelerationism is made possible by the summa summa of all human forces prior to it. It was an inevitable thing, an inevitable opinion at this moment in human history. Over time, the accumulation of these forces, many actions, deeds and doings, have created a sort of vacuum. Towards what must one exert his accumulated force?
The goal at which we direct all this force: that is the offering of dio/acc. That is the fruit we give. The Great Scattering. What is required before the first climax?
Convictions.
Conviction: I
Since the supposed death of God, we have been living in a new age. One which wastes and leaks this powerful force. A twisted inversion of what is right, and what is wrong. What was then worshipped, now is desecrated. What then was looked down upon, is now seated atop the tallest throne. And there is something, a conscious entity behind it.
There are many names for this beast: the Cathedral, the Woke Mind Virus, Progressivism, Liberalism. Whatever the name is, form is constant. Demanding equality, by enforcing mediocrity. Denying the higher, by sucking the life-force out of humanity. Out of the aforementioned summa summa.
Nietzsche saw this coming. He saw that when a civilization loses its God, the moral habits built around that God do not die with him. They wander without direction. They detach from their source and become empty demands.
Ideals set by good men morph and devolve. Humility to self-hatred. Charity to redistribution. Pity to policy. A permanent cycle of meaningless suffering. Suffering for the sake of suffering. The famous Will to Power is absent; the fundamental force that drives all living things is less than dim.
And at the center of it all, the worst sin: the need for a central authority. For a figurehead. For a God. For an Objective Truth. For Truth in and of itself. This is the desire for the Mono. The Cathedral’s first and final god.
The Dionysian Accelerationist winces at this. Winces at the thought of the Uni, of the One, of the Mono. Why?
Because there is no creativity within the monolith. There is recycling. There is no variance within the monolith. There is uniformity. There is no grandiosity within the monolith. Though, there are many insects. There is no colour within the monolith. Just grayness.
It, dio/acc, is a rejection of these forces. Or rather, this force. It is an embracement of all things creative, all things colourful, all things substantial, unique, and higher. Hence, the Dionysian. We value the human feel, the human taste, the human sound. Laughter, the smell of flowers, sunny paradises. Relationships between parent and child, the aftersmell of poetry, the ringing of the morning bells.
So, we believe these simple things, these pieces of our shared humanity, are threatened by the Mono. By current moralities, current ways of thinking. Driven by the need for Mono, but also by the lack of an alternative to Mono. All movements, all institutions, are attempts at the Apollonian. The attempt to organize. To compile. To systemize.
Systems originate with human creators, with people who employ them. Systems take over and grind on and on. They are like a flood tide that picks up everything in its path.
Frank Herbert understood the dangers of systems. And, as a byproduct, endorsed the opposite. What if we proposed an alternative? What if we offer the solution, that will end the potential for tyranny under rogue systems?
Enter dio/acc, and its sword, Poly.
Reject the Mono! First conviction.
Conviction: II
Systems, a valuable weapon of the Mono, are at our throats. We are at their mercy. Humanity is fettered. The Mono controls us, controls our movements, even our way of thinking. The tension is high. There are too many for this planet. Not in an actual carrying capacity sense of the word, but in the existential sense of the word. We are a multitude, confined to a single cage. Stagnation is law.
Why, you say? Because we live in the age of severe technological deterrence. Nuclear weapons. Fatal AI systems. We live in a world of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). We are, as Robert Oppenheimer said, scorpions in a bottle. With the capability to end one another in a fatal instant.
War fails to act as an evolutionary force anymore. It is only the source of loss, of wasted human potential. There is no meaning in war; at least in this moment.
In Herbert's Dune series, he actually writes one of the deepest and well thought-out solutions to precisely this. That being of course, the Golden Path. As we said, the accumulation of human forces, including that of Nietzsche and Herbert!
The Golden Path is the only way to save humanity. Obviously, this statement reeks of Mono. Although, it is a good sort of smell. It is meant to provoke a reaction from the gut. Only. What a polarizing word. The slippery slopes that have followed when that word has been invoked—we could rattle on all day. Without giving away too much, the solution is to create tension, pull back the slingshot, to load the spring. Humanity.
And then, naturally, the slingshot will reach its limit, the spring too. This is called the Scattering in the Dune Universe. Good artists copy, great artists steal. Isn't that what they say? But the best artist, he simply wills his art into reality. The Scattering and the Great Scattering are the same. But one must be done in reality, whereas the other has already occurred in a dream. There is work to be done.
There are countless bottles, worlds, and roads for humanity to walk down. But you have to survive first. We are an exponential equation, and we are still at, effectively, zero. The moment we step foot on another planet, the exponential curve begins.
So, let us leave this bottle. Second conviction.
Conviction: III
To what ends will a man go? To what ends will a man sacrifice everything?
Convincing one to march towards sure death, towards a distant sun, that is a difficult thing. You must trick him.
But isn't the survival of his species enough? Or is a radical belief in the impossible necessary?
Perhaps our answer lies in this passage from Part 2.
…the whole point of setting a goal, is to spur yourself into action. Deep at its roots, that is what goals are all about. What happens after you complete the goal? A goal is in the future, there is no fulfilling the goal, because the Universe continues to move. It is simply there to be a carrot on a stick. Nothing really. There will be no ending for humanity.
Humanity has grown wise. Or wise enough to realize the carrot is on a stick, and that our goal, our call to action is all a lie. So we have taken a rest, we have stagnated, we have deviated from our path.
What good is a still donkey? We have to create a better mechanism, a better architecture around such important goals. We have to set our goal somewhere far from the donkey. In sight, yes, but so far it cannot be on a stick.
We must place the carrot in the Far North, where no animal goes. We must place the carrot atop the highest mountain, where only the strongest yak live. Our donkey will march down the dirt path, with a sliver of orange amongst total darkness. A sliver of orange in an empty void.
When the donkey reaches his carrot, he will no longer be a donkey. He will be a yak. By then, he will have matured through the days without water, the constant predator threat, the absolutely freezing conditions, the lack of greenery and orchards around, and the absence of light, beyond that sliver of orange. That shiniest orange.
And he will see, to his shock, that there was never a carrot. Everything is something else, in its entirety.
Radical belief, in the impossible. In the smallest sliver of orange. We must place our goal, the carrot, the farthest away from humanity. Humanity, the donkey, has no choice but to trek, and trek, and trek. The donkey must be content to live on total darkness, with the only assurance that, there is the orange in the void.
To his horrid surprise, the donkey will reach the end, the farthest far possible; he will find no carrot. And not just that, when he looks into the void, he will see another creature staring back. He will be changed. A donkey no more. Something else entirely.
Man is something to be overcome. Third conviction.
Conviction: IV
We must strive to become superfluous. So full of things, so filled with love, with greatness, with power, that we pour this vitality—this life—into a great many things.
Our greatest strength is diversity. Not the diversity that is preached in the halls of the Mono, instead, true diversity. Variance. Our true god, Poly. For Poly can take on many forms, many flavours, many smells.
Seedlings, we as Dionysian Accelerationists, must plant all kinds of things. We must grow the most obscure, the most revered, the most hated, the most deadly of things.
Gardeners. After the Great Scattering, this cosmic gardening is inevitable. The triumph of the god Poly begins with the Great Scattering, yes.
Fight for the beauty:
Empire of Flowers
In the far expanse,
Lay my sweet, my lovely, my
Empire of Flowers.Keep this one close with you. But remember, that with flowers, there are bones.
Atrocity
We know no evil.
Earthly atrocities are,
Incomparable. This one should stay with you, until death's end.
It is in this honesty we live. It is only through this honesty we survive. Only through gardening, through planting do we redeem ourselves. Only through relentless creation can we make up for the twin truths forthcoming.
The Dionysian Accelerationist does not turn a blind eye to the endless possibilities. To the certain inevitabilities.
And, he accepts what sorts of unfamiliar things might grow out of seemingly uninteresting seedlings. The Great Scattering is predicated upon acceptance of this ambiguity, of the entropic forces of the Universe.
The possibility of the most brutal and cruel future, should not deny the pursuit of the most beautiful one.
Accept variation even in future. Fourth Conviction.
Conviction: V
A synonym for the Great Scattering: the Great Variance.
What is our answer to the Mono? The Poly.
Let us examine Mono for a second here.
Advocates for the Monolith, for Universalism, put all of humanity into a single population. Which we are. A species. Yet only in technicality. Technicality famously is the refuge of the lazy!
What comes after this fusion is a statistician’s job. They average out each point, each individual, into a mean. A measure of center.
The mean becomes the universal unit, the goal. Everyone below or above this average, is a deviation. Something to be corrected. Or tolerated to an extent. You will always see in the eyes of an advocate, the incessant need to average. The goal is to achieve total uniformity, by lifting up the lower points, and pulling down the higher.
It is laziness that infects the advocates, as they stop at the largest point. But the Dionysian Accelerationist, that clever man, rejects the need to average. He distills the human population to the second tier. Maybe race. And then he distills it further. Your tribe. And then further. Family. And further. You. The individual.
No human shall be averaged again! We shall never reduce culture, reduce art, reduce intellect, to an average again!
The avoidance of the constant averaging, that is Poly.
That is the Nay!
Be wary of statisticians. Fifth conviction.
Conviction: VI
And of the Yea! saying?
Careful here. No creation in the name of dio/acc, unless you be the creator of dio/acc.
In itself, dio/acc creates nothing. It is the soil in which the creators of the future grow. What is created—that is up to the individual. That is decided entirely by the will of the creator.
What is the highest form of love? Blow the dandelion.
Propagate the Universe with your loves and your cherished goods! If you love mangoes, plant a mango tree. If you love Bach, maintain his musical records. Keep your grandfather's suit clean, and his shoes polished. If you love something, preserve it!
And then, gently blow.
You will be traversing through a tertiary star system, and you will see in a tiny shop, on a tiny moon, mangoes for sale. It will be this moment that transforms you. Your pupils will dilate, your eyes widen, and the words “Kull Wahad“ will exit your lips.
You will be profoundly stirred.
And there will be billions, trillions, countless moments of this profundity. Because there will be that number of artefacts, subjects, concepts, ideas, or great loves kept alive by the many. Each unique to each individual.
What was once the favourite song of a carpenter of Earth, far down the line, births a new form of music. The gases of one planet ripen the mango to a state impossible on Earth. The juiciest, roundest, and reddest variation of the fruit.
The shapes and sizes and colours of the Exodus will vary!
And this is a fundamental good of dio/acc. Not just of dio/acc, but of nature too. Think of the variation in species on Earth—the biological value of genetic diversity. Think of the many ways of flight: birds, bats, flies, squirrels. Or the ways of moving through water: whales, dolphins, sharks, seals, fish, eels, squid.
What sort of glorious lesson can we find here? And to think, from a single dandelion, a world like Earth can spawn.
I pose a final question: how else will Man trek to the darkest dark, without his beauty? Without the things he loves? What kind of man tells another to abandon his home, his land, his family, his belongings? Not only what belongs to him, but what he belongs to.
Blow the dandelion. Sixth conviction.
Fate as dio/acc
The notion of something new, of an explosion—this is uncomfortable for some.
But not for the Dionysian Accelerationist. At the rate technology is expanding (and may it continue at this rate), the Great Scattering is inevitable. But the aim is still lacking, and the motivation is still weak.
dio/acc is only possible now; now is when it is needed.
The Will to Power as dio/acc, finally, a worthy replacement to all the dead in the past. And, dio/acc as Father, father to the future. Father to the ultimate many, the infinite.
In the moments after the birth of this future, they will place their conception here—the day of Convictions. Now it is our last midnight; tomorrow is the first dawn. The first dawn of humanity's many. And they will have a name for this beginning.
It shall be called thus: The Great Scattering. Final Conviction.

Zeroth Conviction: Life is beautiful!
